Tim Boatright
Artist Bio
Tim Boatright is a Tampa-based sculptor, painter, designer and printmaker whose art incorporates a variety of styles, including traditional, vintage graphic, contemporary and mid-century. Boatright's work can be found in private, public and corporate collections, including Congresswoman Kathy Castor’s Office in the U.S. Capitol.
A fine artist, he has worked with cities and public entities on numerous public art projects. In 2016, his art was featured in a solo exhibition at the Tampa Bay History Center – a Smithsonian Affiliate Museum. The Tampa Relic Collection is now on permanent display at the museum. Boatright also is the featured artist at Tampa International Airport’s “Shoppes on Bayshore,” a 6000 sq. ft. retail shop located on the main terminal.
Charitable involvement has made a great impact on his work. He’s enjoyed the privilege of serving as a creative volunteer for the Farm of the Child, an orphanage in Honduras, for almost two decades and currently serves on the U.S. Board of Directors. Other charities include Trinity Cafe, a restaurant serving the homeless and hungry.
This Piece of Our City
Golf plays an important role in the history of our city. The Temple Terrace Golf & Country Club is one of the oldest private courses in Central Florida. Designed and built in 1921 by renowned golf architect Tom Bendelow, Temple Terrace Golf and Country Club opened in 1922. The first Florida Open golf tournament was hosted by the on this very golf course. The original clubhouse is featured in this painting.
