Hilltop Dog Park

Located at 9240 Harney Road. The park is open daily, sunrise to sunset, 
except for Mondays, from 6 am to 2 pm for maintenance.

To report a concern or learn more about the dog park, please call 813.506.6600.

Incidents involving a dog bite should also be reported to Hillsborough County Animal Control Services at 813.744.5660.

Owners


  • Park users and dog owners assume all risk related to dog park usage. 
  • Owners are responsible and liable for their dogs and children.
  • Owners must clean up after their dog(s) and dispose of waste properly.
  • A maximum of two (2) dogs per handler are allowed in the park at a time.
  • Dog handlers must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult while inside the off-leash areas.
  • Children must be 6 years of age or older to be in the off-leash areas.
  • No animals other than dogs may be brought into the park.
  • Owners must have a leash on hand and be present inside the park with their dog(s) at all times.
  • Owners must stop their dog(s) from digging and are responsible for filling any holes their dog makes.
  • Close gates firmly after entering or leaving the park.
  • Shirts and shoes required.

Dogs


  • All dogs in the park must wear a collar, ID tag, and a current rabies tag.
  • Dogs exhibiting aggressive behavior must be removed from the park immediately.
  • No dogs in heat.
  • No puppies under 4 months old.
  • Dogs must be healthy and without any illness or injury.
  • Spiked collars are prohibited from use in the park.
  • Dogs must be leashed outside the boundaries of the off-leash areas. 

General Info


  • Glass containers, food (human or dog), tobacco and alcohol are prohibited.
  • Bicycles, skateboards and skates (including Rollerblades) are not allowed in the park.
  • The small dog area is for dogs weighing less than 30 pounds.
  • The large dog area is for dogs over 30 pounds.
  • Dog training classes/lessons must not be conducted on-site without prior approval from the City.
  • Failure to follow these rules may subject both the dog and owner to removal from the park and possible suspension of Hilltop Dog Park privileges.
