OVERVIEW
The Omar K. Lightfoot Senior Recreation Center, 10901 N 56th St., is open Monday through Friday from 8am until 4pm. Make new friends and join us for a variety of recreational activities. Annual memberships are available or choose daily fees. Classes specifically designed to address increased activity, flexibility, balance, and overall fitness for seniors are scheduled throughout the week. Senior Transportation
The Parks and Recreation Division is happy to offer transportation to Temple Terrace senior residents ages 55 and over who cannot drive and do not have an alternate means of transportation. With 48-hours notice, transportation is available in the City’s 10-passenger, wheelchair-accessible van – 3 person maximum at one time, with one destination. Appropriate trips include: Doctor appointments, lab and pharmacy trips, and grocery shopping in the immediate Temple Terrace area. Other Great Senior Activities...
Other regular activities free or offered at nominal fees include BINGO; Music BINGO; adult coloring; Bridge; arts & crafts; Tai Chi; Yoga; Line Dancing; parties and celebrations; entertainment; sponsored lectures and information sessions; and much, much more... For the adventurous, trips are planned monthly, varying in destination and cost. Trips in the past have included the museum, the theater, and other local attractions.
