The Municipal Code Enforcement Board hears cases involving violations of the City Code, issues orders for compliance, and has the authority to levy fines, subpoena witnesses, authorize liens, and foreclose on said liens. In effect, the board replaces the municipal court system which was abolished several years ago and provides a mechanism for compliance with the technical codes of the City in a timely manner.
The Municipal Code Enforcement Board is a seven-member board. The term of office is three years and no member serves more than three consecutive three-year terms.
