.com to .gov

The City's online domain name has changed from ".com" to ".gov." This will affect the City's website as well as email addresses of City employees and elected officials.

change of addressBut not to worry – templeterrace.com will be redirected to the new domain name automatically - and indefinitely. The change to a .gov site improves security and searchability, ensuring users that they are on an official government website requiring a more secure connection. Anyone can register a .com domain, however .gov domains are available only to U.S.-based government organizations and publicly controlled entities.

While previously quite costly, .gov domains recently became free to qualifying organizations, following the .gov domain's operational shift from the U.S. General Services Administration to the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.
